About this project
ACU4Pro is a comprehensive mobile reference app built for licensed acupuncturists, TCM practitioners, and students. It unifies eight clinical pillars — diseases, symptoms, herbs, herbal formulas, TCM patterns, acupuncture points, supplements, and nutrition — into a single, deeply cross-linked database. Tap from a diagnosis to its related patterns, then jump to the herbs, formulas, and acupuncture points that address it, all without leaving the screen.
The problem
Treatment rooms have notoriously poor cell signal, yet practitioners constantly need to look up point locations, herb interactions, or pattern differentiations mid-session. Existing references are either bulky textbooks that slow down patient flow, or web-based tools that fail the moment connectivity drops. There was no single, offline-capable resource that let a practitioner move fluidly from a Western diagnosis to TCM patterns to acupuncture points across multiple point systems — all in the few seconds between palpation and needle insertion.
Key features
- Fully offline database — the entire reference lives on-device, so it works instantly in treatment rooms with zero connectivity.
- Deep cross-referencing across eight pillars — diseases, symptoms, herbs, formulas, TCM patterns, acupuncture points, supplements, and nutrition are all interlinked for seamless clinical navigation.
- Seven acupuncture point systems in one view — TCM meridian points, Five Element, Auricular, Korean Hand, Dr. Tan's Balance Method, Master Tung, and Scalp Acupuncture — with location, depth, angle, and safety warnings for each.
- Tongue & pulse pattern matching — enter chair-side observations and surface the matching TCM patterns to confirm differential diagnosis.
Technology
Built as a cross-platform mobile app for iOS and Android with an embedded local database to guarantee full offline functionality. The architecture prioritizes speed and reliability — all queries resolve on-device, eliminating latency and network dependency. No patient data is collected or stored; the app is a pure clinical reference tool with no account requirement.
Status & roadmap
ACU4Pro is currently in pre-launch with an early-access waitlist open at acu4pro.com. The app is preparing for its initial release on the App Store and Google Play, with early-bird pricing available for founding practitioners who join the waitlist.
